🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In June 1968, multiple witnesses in Dayton, Ohio reported seeing a round, shiny object in the sky. The phenomenon was observed for thirty minutes and described as a solid, silver-colored object reflecting sunlight. According to the report, the object had a rod or antenna on the bottom that moved back and forth. Although photographs were taken, the official conclusion suggested it was likely a weather balloon launched from a nearby station.
The analysis included statements from a meteorological officer that aligned with the balloon's characteristics. Although no conclusive physical evidence was found, the object's description and behavior in the sky matched what would be expected from a weather balloon. However, the detailed description and the duration of the observation generated some curiosity, typical of many UFO cases from that era.
