🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In July 1968, a witness in Iowa City observed a bright object traveling westward. The observer, familiar with aircraft and astronomy, described a steady, very bright light that did not resemble conventional planes. It left no vapor trail and did not behave like a satellite or meteor. The observation lasted nearly two minutes, with the object maintaining a straight and stable course. Despite his knowledge, the witness could not identify the phenomenon, leading to a tentative conclusion that it might be an unconventional aircraft.
The report includes details on location, duration, and sighting conditions, along with a detailed narrative from the witness. The object showed no pulsations or directional changes, and its speed was comparable to a jet. The witness, with astronomy training and flight experience, found no similarities to known phenomena. The Air Force requested further information, but the case was classified as "possible aircraft".
