🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A couple in Hamilton, Ohio, observed a football-shaped luminous object for 40 minutes on August 30, 1968. The object moved in an unusual pattern, descending, crossing, and ascending in the southern sky. Although the observer was unsure about the moon's presence that night, data showed the moon was in its first quarter and shifted from an azimuth of 223° to 231°, with elevation dropping from 11° to 3°. The report concluded it could be an astronomical phenomenon, though the object's description and movement didn't match known entities. The witnesses, on the ground, didn't take photos or leave physical evidence, but provided details about the object's appearance and trajectory, which disappeared behind clouds. The case was reviewed by the Air Force, which deemed the information insufficient for a conclusive scientific analysis.
