🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1968, a farmer from Charlestown, Indiana, reported a series of sightings of lights in the sky that did not resemble stars. These lights appeared suddenly in different parts of the sky and were brighter than stars. The observer and his family had noticed these lights for two consecutive summers, suggesting a consistent pattern. Despite multiple observations, no physical evidence or photographs were found to support the presence of an unidentified object. The official conclusion was that there was insufficient information to evaluate the case as a UFO according to the criteria established by the Air Force.
The official report mentions that the lights could have been caused by hot air balloons, aircraft, satellites, or even stars and planets. However, the observer insisted that these lights did not behave like conventional objects. He described how a bright light suddenly turned off, as if someone had switched off a light in a house. Additionally, he mentioned that his family and his uncle's family had seen unusual movement patterns, such as a waterfall or staircase of lights. Despite these detailed descriptions, the Air Force could not confirm the phenomenon as a UFO due to the lack of concrete evidence.
