Summary

In September 1968, an observer in Kewanna, Indiana, reported seeing two objects in the sky for nearly 90 minutes. The first appeared as a reddish, bright star-like object, visible both to the naked eye and through binoculars. A second, similar object appeared later. The air base investigated and concluded it could have been a thermal inversion, an atmospheric phenomenon that reflects light from stars or planets. Arcturus, a bright star, was in the indicated direction at the start of the observation but had moved to a lower position by the end. The investigation found no physical evidence or confirmation of an unidentified object.
