🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In February 1969, a witness in Shingel Spring, California, reported seeing a phenomenon that caught their attention. According to the report, the object appeared as a flickering white light that moved south for about four minutes before disappearing. The observation was made at ground level with the naked eye, without the use of optical instruments. Although the sighting was recorded, no photos were taken and no physical evidence was found. Investigators concluded it was likely a satellite, though other unidentified aerial phenomena were not ruled out.
The report, part of Project 10073, shows how information on UFO sightings was collected at the time. Despite the brevity of the event, detailed questions were included about weather conditions, movements, and the witness's perceptions. This type of record helps researchers better understand patterns and possible explanations for sightings, although in this case no definitive conclusion was reached.
