Summary

An observer in Virginia Beach, Virginia, reported two separate sightings of an unidentified aerial object on February 5, 1969. The first sighting occurred at 19:30 when they saw an object shaped like a broom, with red lights in front and purple on the sides, moving from west to east at an estimated height of 300-400 feet. The second sighting was at 22:00, when the same object appeared moving from north to south at about 100 feet high. Despite the long duration and low altitude, no one else reported seeing it. The observer had enough time to run into the house, come back outside, and take pictures, but did not try to alert anyone else. The lack of additional witnesses and the unusual description of the object led investigators to consider the possibility of a conventional aircraft, although the phenomenon remained unexplained.

The official Air Force report found no physical evidence or secondary testimonies supporting the sighting. The observer, a student with experience in observing aircraft and helicopters, failed to provide useful images or additional details that could help identify the object. The description of the phenomenon, with changing lights and an unusual shape, remains a mystery without a clear explanation.
