🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1969, a student at Louisiana Polytechnic Institute reported seeing an unidentified object in the sky. Using binoculars and a telescope, he described a luminous object with two bright lights that didn’t match any known celestial bodies. The Air Force linked it to a Carment Dax hot air balloon, but the witness wasn't convinced. The official report concluded it was likely a balloon, though the mystery remains.
The object showed no independent movement, leading the observer to rule out satellites or aircraft. Despite his efforts to find natural explanations, none fit his experience. The Air Force responded politely but did not conduct a formal investigation due to the time that had passed between the sighting and the report. The case remains an enigma for the witness, who had a strong interest in astronomy.
