Unidentified Object Over Kirkenes in 1952

Summary

In September 1952, three forestry workers in Norway spotted a mysterious object near Kirkenes. The object, described as flat and round, hovered motionless at about 500 meters altitude and measured between 15 and 20 meters in diameter. After observing it for a while, it suddenly vanished at high speed toward the northwest. The witnesses insisted their report was true.

This case was reported by the local newspaper "Earstad Tidende" and marked as unevaluated information by the CIA. Although only three people saw it, the detailed description and the object's sudden movement generated interest in later investigations. The document, declassified in 1998, remains a key account in the history of UFO sightings in Norway.
