UFO Sighting near Twin Falls, Idaho

Summary

A farmer near Twin Falls, Idaho, reported a sky phenomenon in October 1969 while driving his tractor. Suddenly, the tractor's lights and radio went out, drawing his attention. He observed a large, bright object rising slowly on the horizon. Within it, a brighter light appeared, resembling a July 4th rocket but without an explosion. The main light gradually faded and disappeared. The observation lasted between 5 and 7 minutes, and the witness did not notice any other aircraft or unusual phenomena in the sky. Although initially considered a possible UFO event, investigators concluded the sighting coincided with a Minuteman missile launch from Vandenberg AFB, California, just minutes earlier. No connection was found between the electrical failure and the sighting, and no physical evidence was recorded.
