🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In April 1967, an elementary school in Opalocka, Florida, witnessed a UFO event that captivated hundreds of students and teachers. Around 12:42 PM on April 6th, several students and teachers observed a disc-shaped object with silver coloring and flashing red lights. The object hovered for a few seconds, moved northeast, and then abruptly descended behind the trees. The sighting lasted approximately 2 to 3 minutes. Although initially thought to be a supernatural phenomenon, the Air Force investigation concluded it was a Coast Guard helicopter performing training maneuvers. However, many witnesses insisted that what they saw did not match the description of a conventional helicopter.
The incident caused a significant stir in the community, with children and adults describing shapes and movements that did not align with known aircraft. Some witnesses claimed the object made no sound and exhibited unusual behavior, as if hovering in the air. Despite official conclusions, the mystery remained, and several independent researchers continued to seek answers. The case became a classic example of how perception and psychology can influence the interpretation of unidentified aerial phenomena.
