🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1952, two U.S. Air Force pilots reported an unusual incident in Chicago. While on an interception mission, they observed a radar signal that did not correspond to any visible object. The radar displayed a clear target, but upon reaching the location, the pilots found nothing. There were no clouds or other aircraft in the area. The signal disappeared mysteriously, sparking debate about possible causes.
Air traffic authorities and scientists analyzed the case, considering unusual atmospheric conditions as potential explanations. However, no definitive conclusion was reached. This event became one of the first documented cases in Air Force archives where an unidentified object was detected by radar and could not be explained with the knowledge available at the time.
