🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In September 1952, a U.S. Air Force officer reported observing an unidentified object over Rapid City, South Dakota. The object was seen for approximately one minute and remained stationary at an altitude of around 13,000 feet, above the clouds. The observers, both experienced aeronautical engineers, described the object as metallic with a diameter between 4 and 5 feet. Despite their technical expertise, they could not explain its origin or identify it with any known aircraft.
The report, classified and later declassified, includes details about the exact location and time of the sighting. Although no physical effects or environmental interactions were recorded, the testimony of the observers, along with the detailed description of the object, generated some attention within air intelligence files. This case, like many others, remains unsolved and continues as a mystery in the history of UFO sightings.
