🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1952, a civilian employee in Southern Pines, North Carolina, observed an unidentified object moving rapidly with a green light. The testimony describes an elliptical object with an elongated tail orbiting counterclockwise. The observation occurred at an estimated altitude of 5,000 feet and lasted only a few seconds. The object left no trail and made no noise, causing confusion among witnesses. Despite attempts to evaluate the sighting, no clear conclusion was reached, and it was considered possibly a weather balloon or an astronomical phenomenon.
The description of the object includes details such as its bright green color and rapid movement, distinguishing it from any known aircraft of the time. The witness, a civilian employee, stated that the object moved at a speed exceeding any conventional aircraft. Although favorable weather conditions were recorded, including clear visibility and no storms, no satisfactory explanation for the phenomenon was found. Like many other cases from that era, this remains an unsolved mystery.
