🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
An observer in Traverse City, Michigan, reported a luminous object resembling a saucer with a large hump in the center. The object remained nearly stationary for about an hour. Although no aircraft or balloons were recorded in the area, nor any unusual weather phenomena, the investigator considered it could be an astronomical object such as Capella, Procyon, or Jupiter. The description of the object, combined with its location and duration, generated some uncertainty about its origin.
The lack of physical evidence and the absence of confirmation by radar or additional sightings led to classifying the incident as likely astronomical. However, the detailed description by the observer and the perception of vertical movement add a touch of mystery to this case.
