🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In October 1956, a classified report described a sighting of two white, round objects, the size of a baseball, near Deming, New Mexico. A witness, a 14-year-old student, saw them moving together at a distance from each other, one on top of the other. The report concluded that it was likely a reflection of lights, possibly from a car, given the cloudy and rainy weather conditions. Although the witness could not precisely determine when the objects disappeared, the report suggests the phenomenon was optical rather than supernatural.
The exact location of the sighting was recorded as near 32°16' N and 107°35' W, with visibility limited to 2 miles and a cloud ceiling at 3,000 feet. Despite the lack of photographs or radar data, the official report concluded that it was not an unidentified flying object, but a reflection caused by weather conditions. This case is an example of how UFO reports are often explained by natural or optical phenomena, even when they appear unusual.
