🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1967, a group of friends in New York observed a bright object moving rapidly across the sky. The witness described how the object, the size of a coin, moved eastward as if scanning the area. As they followed it for several blocks, it appeared to descend until it looked like a half-dollar. Suddenly, eight jets appeared, split into groups, and performed repeated maneuvers. Two of them veered off in the direction of the UFO, barely visible as a speck in the sky. The group's mother, amazed, remarked it was something unusual. The witness and friends called the police, who confirmed others had also reported it.
The official military response was brief and indifferent. Major Quintanilla thanked them for the information but stated it was too late to investigate in detail. He reminded witnesses of the importance of reporting immediately to allow for a thorough analysis. Although the testimony was not pursued, the case reflects how many UFO experiences remain unresolved, with generic official responses and no concrete action.
