Summary

In April 1967, two witnesses in Jefferson City, Missouri, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon that led to an official report by the U.S. Air Force. The object was described as flat, round, and luminous, observed for more than 20 minutes and moving toward the southwest. One witness compared it to a very low star, noting flashes of orange, red, and blue. Although the report suggested it might have been the star Sirius, there was no physical evidence or photographs to confirm this.

A second account, lasting 45 minutes and observed with binoculars, added new details. The observer described a cold metallic glow and a bright light illuminating the area. According to this report, the main object split into two smaller units. While others confirmed the presence of the phenomenon, there was no agreement on size or shape. The report was prepared by 2nd Lieutenant Samuel T. Martin, Jr., who did not reach a definitive conclusion about the nature of the object.
