In April 1967, a citizen of Mixco, near Guatemala City, reported an unusual aerial phenomenon involving two luminous objects. The witness, a local florist, described observing a bright object moving rapidly from the southwest to the northeast, with a brilliance greater than Venus. Later, a second reddish object appeared and approached the first. According to the account, the objects seemed to move at high speed, and the witness tried to observe them with binoculars, though the event's rapid pace made it difficult to determine exactly what happened. The official report, prepared by the USAID in Guatemala, notes that the witness could not recall with certainty if there was a collision or explosion, but did mention bright flashes with each directional change. The testimony included a drawing of the objects' path, showing a zigzag pattern with red flashes. The report also mentions that no other witnesses were confirmed and there were no local media reports. Despite the unusual nature of the event, the officer in charge considered the witness credible, as there were no signs of exaggeration or a desire for publicity. The case was classified as insufficient for a definitive evaluation, but was filed in case further data emerged.
