UFO in Chanute AFB Illinois forms

Summary

This document is a report form for unidentified aerial phenomena (UFO) from Chanute Air Force Base in Illinois, dated August 1952. A high-ranking officer, Major Kennedy, along with a Captain, observed several unidentified objects flying directly over the base facilities. The objects were in a "V" formation and moving from east to west. They remained visible for 5 to 10 seconds, covering approximately 10 degrees of the horizon. They disappeared behind houses and could not be located again. The objects had a bright blue color, were elongated, and their major axis was at a right angle to the direction of flight. There was no noise, oscillation, or smoke trail. The report details that the weather was clear and that the objects blocked the view of the stars as they passed. Major Kennedy noted the position of a base beacon, but there was no correlation between its movement and that of the objects.
