🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1967 report describes an object with a flashing red light that remained motionless in the sky. The observer, a civilian working in Middletown, New York, estimated the object to be about 20 miles away. The light resembled the top of a police car seen from about 100 yards. The object was round with a dome on top, but showed no tail, trail, or noise. The observation lasted approximately two hours, and the object disappeared suddenly after slowly moving northwest.
The initial report was considered incomplete and confusing, prompting a request for revision. Eventually, it was concluded that the object was likely a helicopter, although no sound was heard. Weather conditions were ideal for observation: clear, cloudless night with visibility over 15 miles. Despite thorough review, no physical evidence or alternative explanations confirmed the object's identity.
