🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In November 1952, an UFO incident was reported in Hokkaido, Japan. An unidentified single-engine aircraft was sighted three times by Japanese military observers. The first sighting occurred west of Hokkaido, followed by another northeast of Kushiro city and a third over Tsushiro city. In each case, the plane was flying north to south at low altitude, making radar detection difficult. There were no friendly aircraft in the area at that time, increasing the suspicion that it might have been a Soviet plane.
The geographical proximity of Sakhalin Island to the sighting area increased the possibility that the aircraft was of Soviet origin. Subsequent investigations ruled out the possibility of it being a Japanese plane or an observation plane from the cavalry division. Despite efforts, it was never confirmed whether the same plane was seen in all three sightings. This case remains an unresolved mystery in the history of UFO sightings.
