Summary

In 1952, a U.S. Air Force pilot reported a bright object near Stuttgart, Germany. While returning from a flight, he noticed a very intense light at 90 degrees from his flight path. Initially, he didn't pay much attention, but when he saw the light moving rapidly, he decided to observe it more carefully. The object crossed in front of his plane at around 20,000 feet, moving at a speed comparable to a fighter jet. It made no noise and left no trail, making it even more unusual. The pilot tried to follow it, but the object made a sharp maneuver and disappeared. This incident was classified as "unidentified," and no further investigation was conducted.

The official Air Force report provided no clear explanation, and the case was filed away without additional follow-up. Years later, an intelligence officer noted that the lack of follow-up in such cases was common due to limited personnel and resources. The pilot, an experienced officer, had no reason to fabricate the sighting, adding credibility to the testimony. This incident is an example of how some UFO cases were treated with little rigor at the time, despite their potential significance.
