🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A pilot named Faston reported an unidentified flying object in 1951 near Charlottesville, Virginia. The object appeared as a yellowish oval light moving from east to west. According to the report, the object was larger than any visible planet and was observed for three minutes. Faston noted that the object moved in an unusual manner and did not appear to have conventional navigation lights. The pilot considered the event strange, as there were no landing strips or normal conditions to explain what he saw. Additionally, no clouds or moon were observed, making the identification of the phenomenon even more difficult.
The report was transmitted by phone and mentions that another observer, Faston's wife, also saw the object. The incident was reported to local civil defense authorities. Despite the detailed description, no further action was taken, and the case remained unresolved. This document, classified as unclassified, is an example of the many UFO reports recorded during the 1950s, a time of great interest in unexplained aerial phenomena.
