🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
A 1952 classified report describes the observation of an unidentified object near Padloping Island, Canada. Three witnesses, including weather observers and a technician, saw a bright silver or blue object through a theodolite while tracking an Apibal balloon. The object was described as elliptical or pear-shaped and was observed for five minutes before accelerating and disappearing. Two witnesses confirmed the sighting, with one describing it as "bright and silver" and another as "blue-silver and pear-shaped." The object moved at a constant altitude and direction before suddenly speeding up.
The report was deemed "insufficient for evaluation" due to lack of conclusive data. The base commander could not verify the sighting as the object vanished quickly. The document was classified and distributed to various air bases and intelligence centers. Despite no clear explanation, the report highlights the importance of documenting unexplained aerial phenomena, especially when observed with professional optical instruments.
