The policy established for investigating unidentified flying objects (UFOs) in Australia includes collaboration between various governmental and private organizations. The aim is to expand the scope of investigations by allowing Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) bases to directly communicate with relevant organizations. Contacts with institutions such as the Bureau of Meteorology and astronomical observatories are highlighted, in order to obtain useful information for cases. Additionally, the involvement of scientists and experts is emphasized, although the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) declined to participate in similar projects to those conducted by the University of Colorado.
Direct collaboration between air bases and local organizations facilitates a more efficient and rapid approach to resolving sighting reports. This includes coordination with airports, meteorological offices, and observatories, whose addresses are detailed in the document. Despite these efforts, it is acknowledged that not all organizations are available to assist, and in some cases, such as with the CSIRO, it was considered inappropriate to engage in similar investigations at that time.
