In September 1968, Tasmania witnessed multiple sightings of a bright white object with sparks. Witnesses reported seeing a long, windowed craft trailing sparks, with no associated noise. The object appeared near Mount Wellington and was estimated to be below 4,000 feet in altitude. Over 40 people observed it, including callers to the police and weather office.
