In 1983, a series of unidentified flying object (UFO) sightings in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia, drew attention from both the public and authorities. Witnesses described objects with red, green, and white lights, saucer-like shapes, and erratic movements. Russell Henthorn, a young photographer, captured images of one such object, revealing a structure with pentagonal lights and an appearance that sparked controversy. Military and scientific officials offered explanations such as satellite breakup or astronomical phenomena like Canopus and Capella, but many remained skeptical. The sightings coincided with anniversaries of similar incidents and fueled debates about the nature of these events.
