In January 1977, two people in a car observed a bright phenomenon in Drôme, initially classified as unexplained. A decades-later review revealed the object was Venus. The intense light and rapid movement of the planet, combined with atmospheric effects like fog, created a confusing perception. One witness described it as moving like a shooting star, while another noted a quick maneuver toward the south. The current review, using modern tools, confirmed Venus was exactly in the observed direction, just a few degrees off.
