In March 1980, several people in two cars observed a luminous phenomenon in the sky over the Drôme region in France. The object, described as a very bright sphere with green reflections and shapes resembling "feet," moved westward before disappearing behind the mountains. Descriptions varied between phosphorescent white, orange, and red, initially causing confusion. However, after a detailed analysis, investigators concluded it was Venus. The duration of the observation, its position in the sky, and optical effects caused by the atmosphere matched the behavior of this planet. Additionally, the perceived movements were explained by the observers' movement in the cars, creating the illusion that the object was following them.
