🇫🇷 GEIPAN / CNES
On August 17, 1980, two witnesses in a car saw three humanoid figures standing still on a hill near the ocean. Lit by their headlights, these figures were about two meters tall, bulky, and had orange, oval shapes on their heads. No sound was heard. The next day, one of the witnesses saw a bright blue light in the same direction. They didn't report the incident to authorities until late August, and when gendarmes arrived, no trace was found. The GEIPAN reviewed the case years later and considered it unexplained, but without aerial elements, it's not relevant for their analysis.
The most plausible hypothesis points to divers on the beach, though no vehicle was found nearby. The witnesses, frightened, didn't stop to investigate further. Despite the logic behind the explanation, the GEIPAN cannot conclude with certainty. The case is classified as C, meaning it has no value for aerial analysis. These types of reports help understand the limits of UFO investigations, where clear answers are not always possible.
