Reventin-Vaugris 1985, Dome-shaped object with lights

Summary

On September 14, 1985, a witness observed for an hour an object in the shape of a dome with interior lights. Later that evening, using binoculars, the object appeared to leave an incandescent trail. Gendarmes and the director of an observatory also tried to observe it with binoculars, but fog prevented any telescope observations. Despite these efforts, no further information was gathered about the phenomenon. This case, classified as "C" by the GEIPAN, remains an unsolved mystery.
