In July 1990, an unexpected crater of 14 meters in diameter appeared in a field in Eure. Curiosity was sparked when the media reported the discovery. Upon inspection, researchers found a ring of soil and a central mound. Careful excavation revealed 25 metal fragments. These were not from a meteorite, but from a World War II incendiary bomb. Analysis confirmed the explosion happened underground, solving a mystery with a historical twist.
