🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In August 1958, a witness in Roswell, New Mexico, observed a luminous phenomenon crossing the sky. It was an intense flash of yellow to orange light with a tail that left sparks, visible for five seconds. Although its shape and size were not determined, the characteristics matched those of a meteor. The official report classified it as an astronomical event, ruling out any other explanation. The observation occurred under ideal weather conditions, with no discernible sound, supporting the theory of a celestial body entering the atmosphere.
The document, part of Project 10073, was reviewed by multiple U.S. military units. Despite the thorough analysis, no evidence of an unknown craft or non-natural activity was found. The report concluded the object was a meteorite, and no further investigation was deemed necessary. This case, though brief, reflects how authorities handled UFO sightings in the 1950s, prioritizing scientific explanations over speculative ones.
