🇺🇸 USAF — Project Blue Book
In 1965, air traffic controllers at Andersen AFB in Guam reported mysterious radar returns with no identifiable source. These phenomena, detected from October 1965 to June 1966, showed radar signals with identification codes but no confirmed visual contact. The objects appeared at various altitudes and speeds, sometimes even seeming to hover or move at extreme velocities. Despite multiple interception attempts with aircraft, no physical identification of the source was achieved. Analyses suggested these were not solid targets, possibly atmospheric anomalies or unusual reflections.
Researchers considered various theories, from atmospheric ducting to interference signals. However, no conventional explanation fully matched the data. Observers, including FAA experts, agreed that these were not balloons, known traffic, or typical weather conditions. Despite efforts, the phenomenon remained unresolved, and additional information was requested to continue the investigation.
